The Maecenata Foundation will participate in webinar on civil society in Europe on 14 April 2023
05.04.2023 I The webinar will showcase the Euroasso project, that the Maecenata Institute’s Director Dr. Siri Hummel, heavily contributed to, alongside her new white book of civil society research
On 14 April, the Maecenata Foundation will take part in the webinar ‘CSOs and democracy in Europe – Advancing knowledge and recognition of CSOs’ contribution to society and democracy in Europe.’ The webinar will be hosted by the French Institute for Civil Society Organisations.
In 2022, the Institute launched, in partnership with the Maecenata Foundation and the Institute for Social Research, a working group on Civil Society Organisations in Europe, assembling 40 researchers from 16 European countries.
From 14:00-17:15 CET on 14 April, working group members will present their research result to the public, with interpretation provided in French and English.
The opening speech will be given by Oleksandra Matviichuk, President of the Center for Civil Liberties of Ukraine, which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022.
Dr. Siri Hummel, Director of our Institute, will present the results of her research on civil society knowledge in her white book. There will be a roundtable discussion with civil society actors, philanthropists and a MEP, with the webinar also marking the launch of a digital library, containing more than 650 scientific European references.
