Since last month, November 2021, Maecenata Foundation is hosting the work of Luisa Bonin. Luisa is Brazilian and holds a Social Communication degree with focus on Public Relations from Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), and she has been working for the last ten years with social impact, development projects, communications, and private fundraising with the brazilian non-profit Aliança Empreendedora (Entrepreneurial Alliance), where she also co-found the online platform TamoJunto.org.br to support low-income microentrepreneurs in Brazil, having impacted more than 100K people to develop their small business since then.
After years working on the NGO side, and especially with communications and fundraising, Luisa decided to deeply investigate the Corporate and Corporate-owned Foundations side of Philanthropy. Her project is called “Strategic Philanthropy: German and Brazilian Private Sector Practices on Social Investment – a Comparative Perspective” and she aims to investigate social investment decisions, and the most (and the not so) effective corporate philanthropy practices in Germany and in Brazil, and how these practices affect causes, social organizations and beneficiaries, and also, highlight the ones who create effective social transformation and strengthen organizations as well as their beneficiaries.
With this project, Luisa was accepted by Maecenata Foundation as a fellow, and selected by the German Chancellor Fellowship in the 2021-2022 cohort. During next year, she will be dedicated to this research with Maecenata Foundation’s support.
