Part of the 3-year research project of our Maecenata Institute “Shrinking Civic Spaces in Europe” was not only a new edition of our publication series Maecenata Schriften (Band 22: Contested Civic Spaces – A European Perspective) and a two-day symposium at the Berlin-Brandenburg Acacemy of Sciences and Humanities, Berlin – also a website went online!
The platform www.shrinkingspace.eu connects civil society organisations and activists that are impacted by hate, bullying or legal uncertainty in their work with support services. We want to attention to the shrinking civic space phenomenon (increasing restrictions on civil society action in Europe), gather information and establish a strong solidarity network, for the protection of civil society in Europe!
The research project was funded by Porticus and the Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE).
