The European Commission has launched a public consultation for its proposed legislation on associations’ cross-border activities.
According to the Commission, such an initiative would facilitate the access of associations to the single market. It would remove existing bureaucratic hurdles and ensure that associations can exercise their right to free trade, as enshrined in EU law.
The proposal is in response to a resolution adopted by the European Parliament in February 2022.
Positions can be submitted until midnight on 28 October. The Comission aims to respond in late 2023.
