Dr Sascha Nicke

Programme Manager for the Tocqueville Forum

Dr. Sascha Nicke is the Program Manager for Dialogue and Networking at the Maecenata Foundation. In this role, he focuses, on the one hand, on using various strategies and formats in public relations and dissemination to convey existing knowledge and new insights about civil society and philanthropy in Germany and Europe to different target audiences in a way tailored to their specific needs. On the other hand, he maintains the foundation’s existing networks and contacts and seeks to forge new alliances and partnerships.
In addition, Sascha works at the Maecenata Institute for Philanthropy and Civil Society to generate new knowledge, produce new publications, and share this knowledge through lectures, presentations, workshops, and other formats.
Since June 2026, he has also served as the point of contact for major gifts within the foundation’s International Donations division, handling communication with and advising donors as well as managing the donation process.

Before joining the Maecenata Foundation, Sascha worked for nearly six years as a research fellow and coordinator for academic support at d|part, a think tank for political participation in Berlin. He completed his studies in history with a Ph.D. on theoretical and historical conceptions of identity.
