Extreme heatwaves and forest fires have affected large parts of France and Spain in recent weeks. In France, the Fondation de France is supporting organisations that provide assistance to particularly isolated and vulnerable groups – such as Le Garage moderne, which is providing meals to those affected at the Bordeaux Exhibition Centre, and the Compagnons bâtisseurs, who are helping households to cope with the extreme heat by providing cooling equipment. The focus is also on emergency services and the economic recovery of those affected. In Spain, international donations are going to organisations including World Central Kitchen, the Fundación ONCE and the Spanish Red Cross.
